Pressed with purpose. Made for impact.
Pressed With Purpose
Press Pals is Made For Cause’s volunteer production support program. It exists to help causes create what they need — from outreach apparel to printed goods that support programs and fundraising.
Press Pals launches in Brentwood at Craft Press Studio and is being designed to expand through coordinated volunteer production events across the country, supporting both community needs and cause-driven products for CauseShops.
Home base for Press Pals is now secured.
Craft Press Studio has officially secured its first location at 390 Carroll Ct, Suites E–G, Brentwood, CA 94513, finalized on January 21, 2026. Build-out is scheduled to begin in March. As soon as the space is available, the facility will begin being used and prepared — allowing Press Pals to start taking shape while the full studio is developed.
This location will serve as the production home for Press Pals and the foundation for future expansion.
How Press Pals Works
Press Pals operates as a press-focused volunteer production program. Press-related needs are identified and selected by Made For Cause, produced through structured volunteer sessions at Craft Press Studio, and provided back to organizations for program use or CauseShops distribution
- Press-related needs are identified and selected: Made For Cause identifies press-related needs through MakeForCause.com and through relationships with local organizations. Only needs that fall within defined press-production categories are selected for Press Pals.
- Needs are reviewed and approved: Selected needs are reviewed by the Made For Cause production team to confirm mission alignment, press-production suitability, and operational fit. Approved needs are scheduled into Press Pals production sessions.
- Production is coordinated: The Volunteer Coordinator schedules approved needs at Craft Press Studio in Brentwood and prepares materials, files, equipment, and production workflows. As the program develops, coordinated Press Pals production sessions may also be supported through approved partner studios and maker groups.
- Volunteer production takes place: Press Pals volunteers work alongside trained production staff to prepare materials, operate press equipment, complete finishing steps, and package completed items. Sessions follow defined procedures for safety, quality control, and accountability.
- Products are distributed: Completed press-produced items are delivered to the requesting organization or made available for local pickup, depending on the organization’s needs. Items may be used directly by the organization or prepared for CauseShops distribution.
- Impact is documented: Each production run is recorded to track production output, supported organizations, and fulfillment outcomes. This documentation supports program reporting, transparency, and program oversight.
Why Press Pals Matters
Press Pals exists because press-based goods are often essential to outreach and fundraising — but many organizations don’t have the equipment, labor, or budget to produce them.
Made For Cause selects press-related needs through MakeForCause.com and also identifies press needs locally through relationships with organizations in our community. Press Pals was created so those needs don’t get stuck at “we wish we could.”
Press Pals brings people, tools, and time together around real needs. Because some needs have to be made.
Cause Connection
- Direct connection with the causes we support – Before each Press Pals production run, leaders from the supported organization are invited to join an in-person or virtual session with the Press Pals team. They introduce their work, share how the goods will be used, and connect directly with the volunteers making them. This gives every production run a real face and a real purpose.
- A “Made For Cause” card with every delivery – The Press Pals who produced the goods sign a “Made For Cause” card that is included with each delivery. It’s a simple way to acknowledge the people behind the work and to remind the supported organization that their items were made by people who showed up specifically for them.
