Dear Friends,

People often ask me why I’ve spent so much time building Made For Cause.

The answer has never been complicated.

I simply love helping people.

Looking back over my career, I realize that some of my greatest joy never came from the projects themselves—it came from watching someone else succeed.

I’ve always loved taking an idea that existed only in someone’s imagination and helping turn it into something real.

A new business.

A new brand.

A nonprofit with a stronger voice.

A family-owned business finally opening its doors.

A community program reaching people who needed it most.

As a graphic designer, web developer, branding specialist, apparel decorator, and entrepreneur, I’ve been fortunate to learn many different skills over the years.

Those skills opened doors for me.

But more importantly, they allowed me to open doors for other people.

Many of the projects I’m most proud of weren’t the biggest projects.

They were the ones where someone simply needed a little guidance, encouragement, creativity, or experience to take the next step.

Watching someone say, “I never thought this would be possible,” has always been worth more to me than any paycheck.

Over time, I began asking myself a bigger question.

What if we could do this for entire communities?

What if we could build something that didn’t just help one business…

Or one nonprofit…

Or one family…

But created opportunities for all of them?

That dream became HIVSO — A Hive of Solutions with Purpose.

A place where people with different talents could work together to help one another.

For Crafters.

For Creators.

For Causes.

Then life gave me another perspective.

For several years, I had the privilege of working inside the nonprofit community.

I met extraordinary people.

People who sacrificed countless hours serving others.

People whose hearts were bigger than their budgets.

Organizations filled with passion but constantly searching for funding.

Leaders trying to wear every hat because they couldn’t afford the creative services, technology, marketing, or media support needed to grow their mission.

At the same time, I knew incredibly talented makers and creative professionals who were asking a different question.

“How can I use my talents to make a difference?”

That’s when everything came together.

I realized these weren’t two separate communities.

They were two communities waiting to meet.

One had a mission.

The other had talents.

Together…

They could accomplish incredible things.

That realization became Made For Cause.

Not because the world needed another nonprofit.

But because our communities need stronger connections.

Connections between generosity and need.

Between creativity and purpose.

Between businesses and nonprofits.

Between volunteers and opportunities.

Between makers and missions.

Since August 2025, I’ve devoted my time to building that bridge.

Developing programs.

Designing technology.

Creating partnerships.

Building platforms.

Planning spaces.

Dreaming about what could be possible if we simply brought the right people together.

Today, that dream has reached an important milestone.

We have an opportunity to establish a permanent home for Made For Cause here in Brentwood.

Not because buildings change lives.

People do.

But sometimes people need a place where they can come together.

A place to create.

A place to collaborate.

A place to learn.

A place to tell stories.

A place to encourage one another.

A place where ideas become action.

That’s what we’re building.

Not just for today.

But for the generations of makers, nonprofits, volunteers, businesses, and community leaders who will come after us.

Over the next several months, I hope you’ll join me on this journey.

I’ll be sharing the victories, the challenges, the construction, the planning, the stories, and the people who inspire this mission every day.
